"Women...light….powerful….strong…...nurturing….. beautiful…..divine.
The divine feminine energy is sincerely unique and unapologetic.
The greatest mentors of my life are women.
They’re the angels that have allowed me to transform from human to goddess.
Messengers that are fulfilled themselves yet better their surroundings
One can’t help but to lean into their captivity
I move, dance, create art as an appreciation to the women who have fought for my success.
We are kind, but not to be mistaken as weakness
The type of kind that’s filled with strength
The voice of a woman should not be ignored
It holds truth, vulnerability, and intelligence
We are spreading our wings
And we will take up space."
Personal Reflection
Throughout this piece, I have been focused on the idea that all of the most influential and powerful people in my life have been women. I see this work as an ode to them, or as me striving to reach their divine status in my individuality. They are strong, nurturing, powerful, beautiful, and light. Just like the Roman angels. These angels teach, command, and inform. Gods and humans are often distant from each other, but angels bridge the gap. The angels in my life have guided me from my human form to my goddess form. I hope to one day do them proud and be an angel figure for others, as they were for me. I leave this piece reminding myself, as a woman anything I do that is my truth is my divine femininity.
